Open Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year will start on January 5, 2026, and continue until November 15, 2026.

The 2026-2027 GCCS Enrollment Lottery will be held on April 6 at 9:00 am. The Enrollment Lottery creates the official Wait List for each grade. As openings become available, students will be offered enrollment based on their position on this list. Any applications submitted from now until November 15, 2026, will be added to the bottom of the wait list for the prospective student's grade level, based on the date and time of submission.

• To see where your student is on the wait list:
  • Login to your SchoolMint account 
    OR
  • Call (716) 821-1903 and select the Administration Building and ask to speak to Gwen Conway, or select the K-8 Building and ask to speak to Nicole Pena.
• Offers to applicants for Kindergarten will go out on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. 
• Offers for all other grade levels (Grades 1-12) will begin closer to the end of the school year, typically starting in May.
• If your child is offered enrollment, you will be notified in your SchoolMint account and via email and phone to schedule a meeting. At the meeting, you will need to provide us with a list of required documents. Please see the list below.

Required documentation:

• Student Enrollment Form (from SchoolMint)
• Child’s Birth Certificate
• Copy of parent/guardian photo ID
• Proof of current physical exam
• Proof of immunization record
• Proof of dental exam
• Completed Home Language and Residency Questionnaire (from SchoolMint)
• If you are a Lackawanna School District resident, proof of residency is also a requirement.
• Two proofs of address
  • Homeowners: provide your tax bill or mortgage statement.
  • Renters: include your lease agreement or a notarized landlord statement.
